Six months ago, I stepped into the CEO role at Schain Research, Ciencia Technology AB, and Ciencia AB with a clear ambition: to optimize our foundation, scale our impact, and advance the role of Real-World Evidence through technology and innovation.
Since then, I’ve had the privilege of leading a company at the heart of evidence generation, one that combines scientific depth with technological innovation to shape how medicines reach patients, how regulators make decisions, and how healthcare systems assess value.
RWE has been seen as a supporting tool for too long, but that thinking is outdated. Today, RWE is a strategic driver of healthcare transformation. The challenge isn’t whether real-world data should be used but whether we are fully leveraging its potential to drive faster, smarter, and more impactful decisions.
Over the past six months, my focus has been ensuring that Schain Research is not just adapting to this shift but leading it. This has meant rethinking how we approach evidence generation, strengthening partnerships, and providing solutions that genuinely serve the evolving needs of pharma, biotech, and healthcare systems.
Driving the Future of RWE Through Leadership
For me, leadership is about more than running an organization. It is about shaping the future.
It is about moving beyond data collection to data strategy. The value of RWE isn’t simply generating more data but knowing how to apply it at the right time and in the right way to make meaningful decisions.
It is about creating partnerships that drive real impact. RWE should not be confined to a single phase of drug development. It must be woven into the entire lifecycle, from early clinical development through market access, payer discussions, and long-term patient outcomes.It is about ensuring we have the expertise and the tools to transform insights into action. Over the past months, we have expanded our capabilities to bring real-world insights into sharper focus, strengthening our collaborations with pharma and biotech and launching new ways to generate evidence that meets today’s healthcare challenges.

One of our most exciting advancements is reimagining how Real-World Evidence is accessed, applied, and integrated into decision-making. While we continue to offer a broad portfolio of RWE services and studies, supporting everything from regulatory-grade evidence generation to payer engagement and long-term outcomes research, we have recently introduced new solutions to provide faster, more flexible access to high-quality RWE insights.
These latest services have been designed to meet the evolving needs of pharma, biotech, and healthcare decision-makers, ensuring that evidence is not only generated but applied at the right time, in the right way, to drive impact:
- RWE as a Service (RWEaaS). Many organizations need deep RWE expertise but don’t always have the internal resources to build it in-house. With this new offering, companies can access on-demand, flexible expertise tailored to their specific needs, allowing them to scale up or down as required.

- Advancing Digital Solutions. EpiX enhances how Real-World Evidence is processed, visualized, and applied, making data more accessible, scalable, and ready to inform regulatory, payer, and clinical decision-making.
